Here we are in the last week of November and finally, we had a half decent frost overnight. At 6am thus morning we ventured out into the darkness, to take the dog for a walk. Crikey, it was nippy out there!
An hour later, I was ready to go to work. First though, the windows needed scraping. It was a pretty good layer of ice, testament to how cold the night had been.
Unfortunately, it’s not due to stay quite as cold. The wet stuff returns tonight. Normally I’d be chuffed to bits with that, but as I’m not running at the moment it’s just going to be a frustrating time.
A decent spell of colder weather will see a bit more movement of the winter birds. More waders and wildfowl in the harbour and maybe even a bittern or two at Hatch pond. It won’t be long, of that I am sure.
