#170 Return of the Bee Orchids

I was based at the Urban Wildlife Centre today, on the edge of Upton Heath.  It was far too hot for any reptile hunts though, even at 0730 hrs there was nothing basking as the temps were already too high.

It was left to the plants to provide an image for the day then, and they did not disappoint. There are plenty still to download and process, which I’ll leave for tomorrow.  One plant that stood out though was the bee orchid. 4 of them in fact, back at the wildflower area after an absence of a couple of years. Let’s hope they keep cropping up every year now. They are such a beauty of a plant!

Top that for a flower!
