#133 Lizards, snakes and cake. Not a bad day in the Office!

OK, so the office today was not inside. It was in fact out on Upton Heath, a fantastic Dorset Wildlife Trust nature reserve that is home to a fair few critters.

It was a training day for the Skills for the Future trainees, as I introduced them to the world of reptiles. Despite the occasional rain shower we had a pretty good day – and I’m pleased to report that all of the trainees managed to see sand lizard:

Male sand lizard. Yes, they really are that colour!

They also got up close and personal with plenty of Smooth snakes:

To top the day off, we even had a batch of ultra special, home-made lemon drizzle flapjacks. Great work by Sarah Louise Hudson – many thanks. I had to go for a run when I got home, partly to offset the 3 flapjacks I had…

An amazing day – thank you Steve! Can’t wait to see some more reptiles! And now I’m excited to look back and work out the gender of the slow worm I saw a couple of weeks ago 😀

Is it ok if I provide a link to this post in my blog post about this week?
