My image(s) of the day comes courtesy of a fishing trip out of Swanage this evening, aboard the San Gina II. An enjoyable trip out to the mark, off the Dancing Ledge area, produced fulmar, guillemot rafts, several kittiwakes, a peregrine and two puffins whirring by. The fishing wasn’t particularly productive however, so we headed back to a mark in the bay to try our luck there- and to drop off a poor lady who had been sick since we started out, and really wasn’t having a good evening at all!
It was bit lumpy out there…
We were followed back by several kittiwakes, a lovely bird to see around our coastline – numbers seem to be dropping unfortunately.
We didn’t fare much better back in the bay. The fish weren’t really feeding. I had 3 pouting, there were also a few dogfish and a single black bream – caught by my boss, Brian. I should add that all the fish were safely returned to the sea. As darkness drew in, I started to feel a tad queasy, so was pretty pleased when we decided to call it a day and head back to the pier!
