#68 A butterfly day

Today clearly belonged to the butterflies. My long run around Poole harbour this morning revealed 8 brimstones and a small tortoiseshell. Inspired to try for some pics, I went straight back out with my camera to see if I could track any down.

Plenty of bright, sulphur coloured brimstones were in flight though never seemed to stop. Good numbers of small tortoiseshell as well, plus a few peacock.

I also had the good fortune to be checked out by a Dartford warbler – cracking little birds with great character!

Small tortoiseshells - enjoying each others company today...
