#65 Pheasant feeding frenzy

Most of this week I’ve seen a couple of pheasants scratching around at the base of the bird feeders when I arrive at the DWT Offices.

Today there were four females doing just that, whilst two males strutted around trying to work out which one was top bird. It turned out that none of them were – as the sparrowhawk that swooped in low and scattered them all was quite clearly at the top of that pecking order!
