#55 Signs of frogs

Lunchtime at work, and I went for a wander around the large pond at Brooklands Farm, home of Dorset Wildlife Trust. I had a full on day in the office so a bit of fresh air was called for.

I found what I had hoped to see – the frogs have been busy. A huge area on the edge of the pond was covered in frog spawn. Unfortunately it seems that some of the frogs didn’t quite judge where the water started – and there was a fair bit left high and dry. Not to worry, as it proved to be the perfect opportunity for my  trainees to get involved in their first ‘animal rescue’, and all the spawn is now safely in the water, and not on the land!

A small section of the frog spawn. This bit was produced by the slightly more sensible frogs..
