#50 A proverb to ponder.. and ladybirds!

Day 50 of 2014 already!  Where has that time gone?

Today was a Bristol day for me, teaming up with my fellow DPGplc Students studying for our CIPD HRM qualifications.  A great bunch, we spent the day discussing a variety of HR related topics before the hard work of delivering presentations took precedence.

There are always posters of some sort on the walls- to act as thought provokers I guess. I quite liked this one, it does seem to sum me up as I do rather like to be in control of my own direction, and now I know why!

Further excitement in the day came in the form of a large cluster of ladybirds, wandering around on most of the window frames.  I had suspected there might be a few around, as it’s a big old building with big old windows that are perfect for Harlequin ladybirds. Although colourful and varied in patterns, they aren’t a particularly welcome visitor to the UK ( they have only recently colonised) as they have decimated our own native ladybird populations.   Still, nice to see them wake from their winter slumber – another sign of Spring on its way. Perhaps!

Harlequin ladybirds. All the same species - despite the difference in colouration.
