#36 Putting waterproofs to the test

Day 36 of 2014, was also day 2 of the Skills for the Future programme. Whichever way you looked at it -it was a very wet and very windy day So windy in fact that we were a man down, as the Brownsea Island trainee was advised to stay on the Island rather than risk not getting back on again.

Undaunted, we went shopping. For waterproofs and wellies. I have to say a big thanks to the lady at SCATS who spent time sorting the trainees out with their kit, and to Rachel of DWT fame, for assisting with colour co-ordination matters – and the provision of some great home made Brownies!

Fully kitted out, it was a case of testing the combination of jackets, over trousers and wellies with a walk around the Kingcombe nature reserve. All returned safe and sound – and dry.  I’m back in the Office tomorrow, busy catching up on emails and phone calls and have absolutely no idea what the image will be for the day!

Happy trainees - just need to find some rain to test the purchases. That was easy!

Walking down a Kingcombe track. That's right, it's usually a track - not a river..
