#18 If Superman was a volunteer…

Saturdays are parkrun days. Other things can happen on Saturdays of course, but first and foremost it’s parkrun day.  The great thing about parkrun is that it is free of charge – entirely.  One of the ways it is free, is the volunteer support for the run. Every week, a bunch of willing volunteers turns up and helps out – from timekeeping, to marshalling and everything else you could think of. All of them are amazing, and without them parkrun simply couldn’t happen.  Todays image is of one of those Poole parkrun volunteers, and is dedicated to the team.

Kev Day is absolutely committed to his role, encouraging first timers and experienced runners alike with his great sense of humour, and all the while keeping Max the Wonderdog occupied by launching tennis balls over the grass! Kev is a great motivator which can’t be easy when he’s shouting encouragement at the 4km point and you know there is a world of pain still to come!
